Welcome aboard the USS Missouri!

Vis Ad Libertatem (Strength for Freedom)

"Every time someone tries to win a war before it starts, innocent people die." -Steve Rogers, Avengers: Age of Ultron

Ship's patch with motto - the text on the top reads United Starship Missouri, the text on the bottom reads Bellerophon Class, and the text in the banner on the patch reads Vis Ad Libertatem, which is Latin for Strength for Freedom"Missouri:" A name which has always been associated with the legendary Iowa class battleship of the United States Navy. Originally named after the US State of Missouri, the 20th Century battleship gained fame for being the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan on September 2, 1945, ending Earth’s Second World War as well as being the last battleship in commission on Earth.

In the 25th Century, however, the name Missouri has a very different meaning: Newly-launched with the latest and most advanced technology, the Federation Starship Missouri may not look like much, but there’s more to her than meets the eye: Among the host of improvements incorporated into the design of the Bellerophon class included the installation of a permanent Marine garrison and a Quantum Slipstream Drive, as well as a Federation first: A Klingon-based integrated cloaking device, implemented to test the waters of a recent amendment to the Treaty of Algeron maintained with the Romulan Star Empire. The Missouri is one of the Federation’s most advanced Bellerophon Class Light Explorers.

The ship is commanded by Captain Patricia Cooke; a young officer with strong lineage ties to the Missouri name. Patricia is the granddaughter of Major Francine Cooke, a Starfleet Marine and veteran of the Dominion War who served aboard the Excelsior class USS Missouri during that conflict, as well as the distant descendant of Fireman 1st Class Harry Francis Cooke, who served aboard the legendary Iowa class battleship during World War II, and was one of the 50 some odd Chicagoans who witnessed the Japanese surrender. Now, over 450 years later, Patricia is the third Cooke to serve aboard a Missouri, and the first Cooke to command one.

The Missouri is assigned wherever Starfleet needs it to go. One day it could be making first contact with a newly-discovered alien species, the next it could be on the other side of the quadrant investigating a years old cold case.

Welcome to the adventures of the Federation Starship Missouri: May you find us an interesting crew, where fun and exciting things lie in wait around every corner. While we cannot guarantee things to be “normal,” we can guarantee you a fun and interesting Star Trek experience whilst serving on the ship that carries the legendary name Missouri.

Hey, all you Missourians!

This is your captain, Patricia Cooke, speaking: Here to inform you that we will be changing URLs, leaving behind the last URL carried by our predecessor sim.

Some research by fleet personnel has suggested that for some firewalls, a .net site is harder to reach than a .com site. As such, we will be migrating to a .com domain.

The USS Missouri can now be found at https://missouri.harperhold.com so please make sure you update your bookmarks. https://missouri.sim-station.net will still be available for now, but the migration will be formalized later this year, as the sim-station.net domain…

"Captain Patricia Cooke... hot damn, Patty, your folks must be proud of you..."

The two officers were relaxing in Patty's office, celebrating the Missouri's formal commissioning over a glass of champagne (the synthetic variety, of course; aside from the fact that it would look bad on them to show up for duty under the influence, Patty's antics in the Academy had practically guaranteed that she could never be trusted with alcohol ever again) and spending the first time in what had felt like a very long time just catching up on things, and what the two of them had been…

Mission: Ghost Starship

ON:

The battle was over; the day had been saved, but for Patricia... At what cost?

Now that Patricia had an opportunity to look back on the sheer number of senior staff she had burned through trying to stop I-400, the numbers were dizzying. It was if her entire manifest consisted only of revolving doors. Every new action she had taken against I-400, she had a new engineer, or a new doctor.

And even now, the revolving doors continued to spin.

While she was waiting on her latest counselor to report in, on her desk lay a stack of PADDs…

Mission: Ghost Starship
Posted on Mon Sep 29th, 2025 @ 5:43pm by Lieutenant Commander Andrew Star & Lieutenant Alice Penrose

Twas the night, when all through the ship, not a creature was stirring, not even a space mouse... Expect Deck 2. A child's giggle could be heard throughout the entire deck. Whose child was running amok? Who brought their child aboard in the first place? So many questions, but no investigator... Yet.

Alice Penrose's steps slowed as she picked up the faint giggle. She tucked her PADD under her arm as she turned her head delicately, listening out for it again. Her features as calm as ever, she started on her way again, but this time in search of the…

Captain's Log, Starship Missouri:

I-400 may be no more, but the mark it leaves on the galaxy may be felt for years to come:

For starters, Planetoid Lazzaro has been completely destroyed. While it was by no means a densely populated world, there were still residents who were lost in the crossfire and explosion. We must pause to remember them, because their blood is on Starfleet's hands. Already, surveys are estimating that the explosion of Planetoid Lazzaro has cast a 75 light year debris field north of the Neutral Zone, effectively cutting off Federation holdings in that sector.

Among the…

Previously, on Star Trek: Missouri:

Joe opened a communication line to the transporter rooms, listening to the crewmen on duty as they worked to get a lock on the away team:

"Transporter room's reporting they have positive locks on Kogami, I-402, and the twins." He reported, listening further to the comms chatter. "But negative locks on T'eseri, Erbun, or any of the marines."

"Keep trying, damnit!" Patricia ordered.

"Captain:" Charlie interjected. "We're not going to be able to hold our current course for much longer. Strongly advise we prioritize the ones we have locks on."

Chief Counsellors Log Number One, Lieutenant JG Eradaar Ezazzan speaking.

It has been a week since I departed the USS Poseidon and left my mate, Lieutenant Lazarus Kord, behind. Whilst we have kept close contact with one another, I would be greatly remiss in stating anything other than a great sadness at our parting. Lazarus has been my rock and foundation since the very inceptions of our feelings for one another. I understand now a few things about us, about our situation and uniqueness.

Lazarus was an outcast in his own home. His situation I cannot state here openly, but…
