| General Overview | Raazym is polite but private, sharing very little of himself with others and preferring time alone whenever possible. As he has advanced in his career, he has recognized the value of availability (and approachability) and does try his best to take at least one meal a day in the mess hall and attend the occasional public event or celebration. That is, when we remembers things like regular meals and social obligations. Above all else Raazym is focused on his work, on learning new things and being of use. His survival skills are deeply ingrained, and accordingly he must understand everything about his environment in order to pre-emptively defend himself from any threats. This means thoroughly studying the deck plans for any ship to which he will be assigned, in addition to touring them privately once aboard in order to become familiar with his surroundings. This is a routine he will repeat every few weeks to refresh his memory and check for any changes. He prefers to never have his back to an exit, and can experience anxiety on away teams where he doesn’t at least have an idea of a location’s layout. |

| Hobbies & Interests | In keeping with his private nature, many of Raazym’s hobbies and interests are solitary. He likes to run, practice yoga and meditation, and dance. His dancing is perhaps his most closely guarded secret, due to the negative connotations associated with Orion dancers. He is very studious and will happily spend time alone researching a new subject. He does enjoy playing cerebral games like Kal-toh and chess. |
| Personal History | Growing up an orphan among the back streets of Qo’noS, Raazym never knew his parents, or even his own name. He learned very early to hide, scavenge, and steal to survive. When he was approximately six years old, he was taken in by a street gang and named Mabeb, a Klingon word that referred to a frog-like creature. Being small and frail, they didn’t bother training him in how to fight. Rather, they developed his innate stealth and intelligence and in time he became very proficient in decryption and programming. When he turned 12, he escaped the gang by stowing away on a cargo ship. Choosing the name Raazym, he began to survive on his own, moving from ships to stations but never colonies; he didn’t want to run the risk of being stuck in one place for too long. Eventually he snuck aboard a Federation startship, the USS Roanoke. Accessing the ships internal senor array, he uploaded a program he’d developed that masked Orion life signs and managed to remain undetected for just under a week before he was discovered. Brought before Captain Pheryll, the Denobulan was impressed that Raazym had managed to hide on board her ship for that long. Together with the aid of the ship’s counselor, she eventually got Raazym to open up about his past. Having grown both fond and protective of him during this process, she offered to become his legal guardian and provide a home for him on the Roanoke. He accepted and learned what it was like to have a safe place to stay and someone to consider family. Thankful for the stability he’d found, Raazym applied to Starfleet Academy when he was 18. Operations was a natural fit for his skillset, and he excelled in academics during his time as a cadet. Socialization was a bit more difficult, and while he had several acquaintances, he didn’t have any close friends. There was a brief, torrid, and ultimately painful affair with an upper classman that put an end to any further romantic pursuits. In his time since graduation, Raazym has made slow but steady progress in his professional and personal lives. With each new assignment, he is eager to discover what else he has to learn. |
